Are they really going green?

I think there are many companies who are saying they are becoming more green, but I believe they are using that as a way to attract people's attention. I think people; including myself, need to look more in depth about this situation. Destiny USA is a perfect example of a company that is focusing a lot on going green. They're doing a lot of things to show that they are "more green" such as, painting different parts of the mall green, and designing different symbols that represents "going green". Having displays about being more green is ok to do, but I think it takes more than billboards and paint to be more green. The way Destiny is being created and the equiptment that is being used should also be something they look more into.

Interesting point Octavia. I think your on to something here. For my post I also used a video that included Scott McDougall's interview. I agree with you when you say that everyone needs to look more in depth at what it really means to go green and how are companies like Destiny USA doing that? I think that will help us determine if they are in fact greenwashing.

Hey,

That interview really let me know what to look for when I do my research into destiny USA and what to look for on whether they're in the practice of greenwashing. I'll keep the six sins of greenwashing in mind...
